Luke Rockhold vs Keith Jardine on Strikeforce . . .
Tonight, Zuffa’s newly acquired secondary MMA organization, Strikeforce on Showtime put on a new event, Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Jardine, with the main event featuring the middle weight champion Luke Rockhold fighting Keith Jardine, former UFC fighter.
Luke Rockhold is the 8-1 Strikeforce middle weight champion, with 1 TKO and 6 submission victories. Including a decision win over Ronaldo Jacare Souza, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend. Keith Jardine on the other hand is a UFC veteran with TKO wins over Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin, both UFC light heavy weight champions. In his career, he held 8 TKO wins and 2 submission wins. He also holds two fight of the night awards in the UFC.
Keith Jardine’s UFC career ended after four straight UFC losses, and his fight with Luke Rockhold was not any different. He was unable to really get started and Luke Rockhold was able to pick him apart, winning via TKO at four minutes twenty six seconds in the first round. Who knows what is next for Keith Jardine. Luke Rockhold made his desires clear, showing his uninterest in fighting another Strikeforce fighter, and calling for some UFC contenders to switch over to Strikeforce.

Brock Lesnar Retires from MMA . . .
The last UFC main event of the last MMA event of the year culminated into Alistair Overeem ‘s utter destruction of Brock Lesnar. After the first round stoppage, which showed Brock Lesnar ‘s very weak ability to take body punches, possibly due to several different causes and theories, Brock Lesnar retires from MMA.
Since it is official that Brock Lesnar retires from MMA, his final record will be 5-3. His last two fights have been first round TKO losses, to Cain Velasquez when he lost the title and to Alistair Overeem who ended his career. The fights were more than a year apart due to his chronic and recuring illness.
Before Brock Lesnar retires from MMA, Brock Lesnar got his start in MMA in 2007 when he fought Min-Soo Kim in the MMA event Dynamite!! USA where he submitted his opponent by strikes in the third round. After that the UFC signed him and put him into a fight with Frank Mir. The fight with Mir started well for him but Mir’s awesome Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and experience came through when he caught Brock Lesnar in a knee bar. Brock Lesnar learned from the experience and came back, winning the UFC heavy weight championship from Randy Couture and defending it twice, including revenge on Frank Mir and a sub of the night bonus for his fight with Shane Carwin.
If you live in Oklahoma City and would like to learn the same techniques that made Brock Lesnar a 3 time UFC champion before Brock Lesnar retires from MMA, come to Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA. Take up the 30 Day Free Trial and get started today with a full free month!
As we remember his career as Brock Lesnar retires from MMA, we should all be thankful for our health and abilities.

Alistair Overeem TKO’s Brock Lesnar . . .
The year for the sport of MMA was capped off with a great night of fights in the UFC event, UFC 141. The main event was a highly anticipated bout between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem.
Alistair Overeem has K-1 level striking, some say, he even has the best striking in the heavy weight division. He came into the fight on a 10 fight win streak with 15 knock outs in his career. Brock Lesnar had much less fights and was coming off of a serious intestinal illness, but much more UFC experience, (which was shown to be an important factor in the Mayhem vs Bisping fight earlier this year) being a former champion.
The fight went as many expected, with Brock Lesnar unable to get Alistair Overeem to the ground and Alistair Overeem was able to land his own strikes that damaged Lesnar badly. His strikes focused more on the abdomen of Brock Lesnar, challenging the area that had just recovered from diverticulitis. After a few knees, Alistair Overeem landed a sick liver kick and Brock Lesnar crumpled against the cage and then down to the ground. The fight was stopped after a few follow up punches, and now Alistair Overeem is now the number one contender and next in line for the title shot.
If you would like to learn the same techniques as used by Alistair Overeem to destroy Brock Lesnar at UFC 141, come to Lovato’s School of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA. Take up our 30 Day Free Trial and get started today!
Congrats to Alistair Overeem on his first UFC win against Brock Lesnar.

Tomorrow night, the UFC is putting on its last event for the year, UFC 141. The main event for the highly anticipated card is a match between Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem. The fight will be aired on pay-per-view and also features Donald Cerrone vs Nate Diaz.
Alistair Overeem holds a very impressive rocord of 36 wins and 11 losses. Surprisingly, Overeem has more submission wins on his record than knock outs, with a 19 subs and 15 TKO’s. He has been ranked very high as a heavy weight for several years but has not fought much in America. He is going to be coming into the Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem matchup on a 10 fight win streak.
Brock Lesnar less MMA fights, holding a record of 5 wins to 2 losses, but the former champion has more UFC fights at 6. His only losses come from former UFC heavy weight champions, Frank Mir and Cain Velasquez and he has already avenged his loss to Frank Mir. Brock Lesnar has been plagued with illness and is making his return to the ring at his matchup between Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem.

Personally in the Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem fight, I predict Alistair Overeem to win via tko in round one.
